Waylaid

Waylaid by Nicola Karesh

The life of the unknown,
the alone
poor and cast-offs.

Erupts and bleeds
into the well-mannered
order of privileged life.

Beckons us to care
to see
to feel,
to make room for
our waylaid brothers and sisters

Who are fumbling,
stumbling
lost in a twist
of knots and turns
who cannot find their way
without our hand and a life-line.
