It’s Time

Beech tree

It’s Time by Nicola Rickards Karesh

This world is going back and forth like a crazy ping pong table.
Pass a law and you think you’re set
And somebody pops right up
And knocks it back down
Backward, forward, backward…

Damn, people!
Make up your mind who and what you want to be!

Who’s in charge?

It’s a free world,
So everybody’s got their stake.
Some seem to muscle their way in with beaucoup cash
And that money is trying to control the arena,
Get a bigger, louder say.

But wait, stop a minute.
Can you hear that clinking, chinking, pounding,
Hitting the pavement noise of you rising up to be heard, counted?
Your voice.

Money isn’t evil in itself.
It can be potent,
Destructive even under the unconscious command
of a despot.

But oh, feel the good that can be done with a mindful,
illumined soul.

I cast my vote in the basket of feeling good
And doing no harm.
We are writing our own
history as I speak.

I am ready for the world to live its happily forever and now fairy tale.
Enough of nightmares, bad drama, soap operas from hell
and actors whose minds are still swayed by their pockets and pants.
Move your centre up a few notches and engage your heart.
It’s time people.
It’s time.

[Words from – Radioactive by Imagine Dragons playing in my mind before the words emerged for this poem….]

(Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, whoa, I’m radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, whoa, I’m radioactive, radioactive

All systems go….)
