Phoenix Rising

Phonenix Rising

Burning that penetrates so deep and wide
You could rip your skin right off.

Peel it back to expose the untouched for sweet relief.

Pushed to the edge of powerlessness
and it now occurs to you to simply
let go and jump.

Jump right in and taste the swirling waters
without any paddle.

Let the burn sear to the bone
smouldering hot
taking everything with it
and you cease to ask for mercy
because the time has come
to enter the flames
to give yourself over
to what will consume you
burn you right out
to a pile of ashes
where if odds are in your favour
a phoenix will arise.

‘Til Now

'til now

‘Til Now by Nicola Karesh

Waves lapping at my heart
The gentlest pull to surrender and let myself go…
Merging into the swell that is love.
Pure and simple.
The Divine is here to take me away
And all that it requires
Is that I say “Yes”
And everything that life has to offer will be mine.

Why the hesitation?
What could be worth denial of completeness?

Nothing is worth it, but I pause to consider the journey
That I must make.

Peeling away and cracking open to reveal
Tender spots that have resisted the light.
They derive comfort from the shelter of darkness,
The coolness of anonymity and isolation
‘Til now.

Sigh Of Freedom

Sigh Of Freedom by Nicola Rickards Karesh

One fierce moment evolves into restlessness
and the demand for life to be other than what it is.

Be other than what you are?
How strange the request.

Is life a parody to be squeezed into a tight-fitting corset
That cannot breathe the very air that keeps it alive?

Be not who and what you are…

The clamps are tight.  Frustration is high.
I want to get out of this box that I have closed on myself.

I can’t breathe!

The demand is too high when I’ve lost my way.
Be yourself.
So simple and life opens with a sweet sigh of freedom.
